Problem:
The tandfonline.com subscription pages where hard to navigate. The information was being fed from a database without much styling, overwhelming the user visually with several options leading to cognitive overload.
Process:
Proposed a standard UX solution module tab which is a design pattern where content is separated into different panes, and each pane is viewable one at a time.
Creating a prototype https://l8jet6.axshare.com to show to users. Comparing the existing design to it. Testing consisted of 5 key user groups (Individual, Institution, Corporate, Society). Users were asked to walk through existing subscription flow on TFO and new design providing feedback throughout. Then again with the prototype.
Key findings:
Users rated the existing user journey an average of 5.75
Users rated the new user journey an average of 8.75
One average users rated the new user flow of 3 points higher than the existing flow.
All 5 users successfully located their tab based on their user type.
All 5 users found the information on the tabs to be easily understood.
